3 Fundamental Skills For Junior Soccer Goalkeeping Success

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

Soccer goalkeepers have a unique position. One which entails highly tuned skills and great athletic ability. One of the fundamental mistakes that soccer clubs make at a grass roots level is not seriously training their young goalkeepers in the fine art of goalkeeping...It is an art form. It is possible that some trainers do not have the specialized skills to train young goalkeepers. Whatever the reason may be, training goalkeepers the fundamental skills they require to succeed at an early age should be a focal point in any team?s success.

Following are some points to remember when training the junior or youth goalkeeper, to help maximize their success in their role as a goalkeeper playing alongside their team mates:

- Footwork: One of the most fundamental skills any young goalkeeper should learn revolves around footwork. Just like Muhammad Ali, goalkeepers should train to be light on their toes and move fluidly around their goal area. Great footwork helps a goalkeeper to attack the ball effectively and defend their goal more efficiently.

- Angles: Understanding how to cut angles is an important skill to learn for any goalkeeper. For example, in one on one situations where a goalkeeper must stop an oncoming attacker, simple movements such as running to meet the attack utilizing momentum and footwork will help close off the attackers ability to strike on goals.

- Communication: Learning how to be vocal in the goal area is a fundamental skill. Understanding how to control your defense is one of the most neglected, and often most important skills a junior goalkeeper lacks. If you do not know how to communicate with your defense, then you are just one goalkeeper in a sea of attackers. Communication is also a vital life skill, something a junior goalkeeper can take away and utilize throughout their whole lives.

The above 3 points are extremely important for the junior or youth goalkeeper to utilize for greater goalkeeping success. Obviously, there is a whole sea of knowledge a goalkeeper will come across in their playing careers. To maximize your young goalkeepers knowledge, take the time to practice these three fundamental skills at home.

Awesome Soccer Moves - How To Learn and Teach

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

We both know that it's not easy to teach and learn soccer moves without easy step-by-step instructions and video clips, so the players and kids can easily understand how they are performed... and learn.

I think the easiest way to learn and teach new soccer moves easily, is to watch video clips of a specific soccer move and follow step-by-step instructions at the same time.

Here's an example:

1. ?Step-over 180? turns" (using inside/outside of the foot)

You can see the video clip of me performing this move here:
http://www.soccerdrillstips.com/downloads/freemove1.mpg

Step 1: Begin as though you were going to do in-betweens, with the ball between your feet.

Step 2: Put your weight on your left foot and bring your right foot up over the ball, turning counter clockwise and placing it on the ground to the left of the ball.

Step 3: Next, pivot on the right foot in a clockwise direction so you are facing the ball again and you can move in the other direction.

Sounds easy enough?

You could also fake the step-over and just ouch your right foot down before spinning back around and taking the ball with the outside of the right foot in a new direction.

This step-over is one of the greatest soccer moves for fakes and feints. The key is to make the step-over look like a shot, pass, or lunge.

Another example...

2. "Double Scissors"

Check the video clip here:
http://www.soccerdrillstips.com/downloads/freemove2.mpg

Step 1: Begin by dribbling the ball between your feet.

Step 2 : Place your right foot to the right of the ball and swing your left leg in a counter clockwise direction from the inside of the ball to the outside of the ball.

Step 3 : Repeat in the other direction with the other foot.

Step 4 : This is an inside-to-outside step-over with the left foot. From here you will move the ball back to the right with the outside of the right foot and accelerate in this direction.

You can perform and teach these soccer moves to the front of the ball, front side scissors, or from the back with the step-over mostly behind the ball, back side scissors.

Key Point: The key is to make your opponent believe the step-over is truly a move to the left.

Now go out there and try it and come up with your own variations. Good Luck!

Soccer Positions

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

As with basketball, soccer is a game with players who perform a specific role. A team is comprised of eleven positions. There is one goalkeeper or goalie, and ten others who have to defend attack or take up midfield positions. Each role has a specific set of skills and a specific area to deal with.

Goalie or Goalkeeper

It is the goalie?s who has to prevent the opponents from scoring a goal. This person is the only one who can touch the ball with their hands and they can only move within a certain area of the field.

Defenders or Defensive Positions

These positions help the goalie prevent opponents from scoring a goal. Like the goalie, they are restricted to a certain area of the field.

*Centerback-the centerbacks try to stop the opponents particularly the strikers of the opposing team from scoring. They try to keep to ball out of the penalty areas.

*Sweepers- sweepers go after anyone from the opposing team who breaks through the defense line. A sweeper should be able to control the ball and pass it well and counter any moves that the attacking team brings.

*Fullback- These players try to prevent the ball from entering the penalty areas

Midfielders

These players are located between the strikers and the defenders. They try to get the ball from the defenders on the opposing team and pass it to their strikers. This is a position that requires a lot of energy because they have to keep an eye on many things at once. They can be switched from a defensive stance to attacking pose at any time during the game.

*Defensive midfield- the purpose of this role is to get the ball from the attackers on the opposing team

*Attack midfield- these players must try to open avenues for their team to score goals

Strikers or Attackers or Forward

These team members are located close to the opposing team?s goal. They are the ones who score goals. Another role they play is to try and help others on their team score a goal. Most familiar soccer players are found in this position because they score the most goals.

Soccer Lessons - How To Kick a Soccer Ball Properly

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

One of the most important soccer lessons and the first thing to know on kicking a soccer ball is what not to do. Do not kick a soccer ball with your toes, unless you are poking the ball to steel it from an opponent. There is not enough surface area on the toes to be able to aim the ball properly.

When kicking the ball the most powerful place to strike the ball with is the instep of your foot (the place where the shoelaces are). You will use this kicking technique most often.

Your supporting foot should be in line with the ball and the leg should be slightly bent. Once you strike the ball, follow through with a sweeping motion.

The inside of the foot is also used to kick the ball. The supporting foot should be pointed at the target and in line with the ball. Swing your kicking foot through the ball using a sweeping motion. The ball should move smoothly along the ground.

A more advanced kick is achieved by using the outside of the foot

The supporting foot should be angled at about 15? from the target.
You need to be sure your foot is firmly locked before striking the ball.
Yours in soccer,

Brazilian Soccer

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

Brazilian Soccer.

The soccer madness that has never relaxed its hold on Brazil began at the turn of the century, caused the entire nation to plunge into depression in 1950, later lifted it to peaks of euphoria between 1958 and 1970, contributed to the malaise caused by the political, social, and economic difficulties afflicting the country in the 1980s, and in 1994 gave Brazil's collective self-esteem a badly needed boost.

Global and Brazilian Soccer 2006

Sport is almost a secular religion with its myths, rules and revered heroes, often competing with religion when games are played at the same time as church services, say two Brazilian researchers. "Football and politics, the construction of a national identity".

Their conclusion that soccer is like a secular religion is one of the findings in the book dealing with class, race and geography in sport.

As the soccer teams from around the world converged on Germany for the soccer World Cup ? there is no question that the game forged and reinforced national identity in Brazil where the love of soccer is palpable.

Brazil is the only nation that has participated in every World Cup since the inception of the tournament in 1930.

Bulletin:

2006:

The Brazilian soccer confederation has hired former captain Dunga as coach of the national team.

Dunga, who was the captain of Brazil's 1994 World Cup-winning team, replaces Carlos Alberto Parreira, who quit after Brazil was eliminated by France in the quarterfinals of this year's World Cup in Germany.

"The choice of Dunga will fully satisfy the desires of Brazilian fans who want an enthusiastic coach on the national team," CBF president Ricardo Teixeira said on the confederation's Web site.

Dunga will make his debut when Brazil faces Norway in an exhibition Aug. 16 in Oslo.

History of soccer in Brazil and around the world.

After Brazil became a republic in 1889, the sport was the first time that poor, black and mixed-race people were integrated in social institutions like clubs, street teams and schools, and even into a national team.

Maybe soccer has not won elections or helped overcome social injustice, still the game has been used in Brazil by the State in the pursuit of its own interests and to consolidate its support.

President Vargas used the soccer sport as a tool to build national identity in Brazil, much as was done in Germany in the 1930?s promoting national pride in physical education. The World Cup tournament can be seen as an example of the largest number of people on the planet paying attention to an event of global reach. Nowhere was the enthusiasm greater than in Brazil.

The soccer World Cup is an event where national identities are upheld, presented and celebrated.

The oft-used expression "Soccer Country" defines Brazil as accurately as the descriptive "Carnival Country."

Indeed, the game "Brazilian Soccer" has managed to captivate Brazilians in every comer of the land, from Amazonia to the deep south, with an equal measure of devotion; in fact, it has sustained a degree of popularity that even Carnival has never been able to match.

The sport "brazilian soccer" has played a major role in unifying both nation and community. In Brazilian Soccer everyone follows the national team and takes great pride in its successes. Newcomers, whether from abroad or from another part of the country, are able to integrate themselves into the social life of a city or town by becoming fans of a local Brazilian soccer team or by participating in the game themselves.

Ronaldinho - World?s Greatest Soccer Player

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

Ronaldinho is one of the world?s greatest soccer players. You probably have seen his Nike commercial where it shows him as a young boy, and also shows him at his present age. It shows him kicking the ball up in the air and making defenders look like fools, and then at the very end he rolls the ball in with his head. The amazing thing about this commercial is that it is not much of an embellishment of the skills that he possesses. I have seen matches when he displays some of these same skills, and makes the defenders look just as bad.

Ronaldinho grew up in a poor village in Brazil. His father died when he was only 8 years old, and his family remained poor until his brother Roberto signed to play professional soccer. Ronaldinho first gained notoriety when he was 13, and scored 23 goals against a local team. Even though, Ronaldinho is the world?s greatest soccer player, he is still very humble. His humility makes he very appealing to me, because I do not like cocky players. Some reporters recently commented that he was the greatest soccer player in the world, and he told them he did not even think he was the best player in Barcelona. He has also been asked what he does with all of his money, and he says that he gives it to his mother. The reporters then asked if she was managing it for him, and he said no it is her money.

He has also been quoted as saying that even if he was not paid any money, he would still play just the same. In 2005, he was the highest paid soccer player in the world, at $29.5 million, including salaries and merchandising. His image is worth an estimated $60.3 million, which is the most valuable in the world. Ronaldinho is associated with many brands throughout the world, but Nike is probably the most well known of the brands.

Betting Highlights, soccer betting situation winner football picks

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

Betting Highlights on tricky bets of the day and the valuebets on Sunday 7 of May. Released by sportbetting guru ecobika.

Weekend soccer gambling bonanza part 3. Yesterday ecobika gave you winner football picks again! Especially -> Mainz's victory vs. Schalke was fine. Very simple betting situation in soccer Serie A Italy preultimo round. 2 rounds to go yet, including this one. Fiorentina (v Reggina), Roma (v Treviso), and Milan (in Parma) are in must win situations. Ecobika would suggest to play all these games in -> football accumulator, or combo if you like -> Fiorentina, Roma, Milan. Roma and Fiorentina are in fight for the 4th, yet Champions League spot. Most likely Juventus will win the Scudetto and hard to imagine that Palermo takes this game seriously, the players are on vacation, at least your heads and feets. (Last round: Palermo v Roma 4-4, what a funny result it was.) Only one more game is interesting: Internazionale v Siena. Siena need one point to survive for sure, keep an eye on upsetting ,,fall apart" Internazionale, whose 3rd spot is 99.9% sure. The rest: Messina should win, but then should win in the last round too and hope Siena not to make a point, therefore not adviced to bet Messina v Empoli.

Big excitement in the Premiership. Both the second and fourth places are not sure yet. West Ham v Tottenham, the Hammers made enough upset -> West Ham to win AH 0:0. This bet is winner, if West Ham wins, and loser, if Spurs wins, moneyback on draw. Certainly, the draw could mean that Tottenham losing the Champions League spot, because Arsenal in more than explosive form and Wigan will not play for anything (?). The candidates for the second place are MU and Liverpool. Manchester United has 1 point advantage. Ecobika thinking about NO UPSETs -> MU and Liverpool to win. The remaining matches will be played, you can count as many upsets, as you can.

Not easy to calculate the chances in Bundesliga2, where the preultimo round (round before the last round) is taking place. Crossing ways: Offenbach v Cottbus, the home side needs some points not to be relegated, the away side to be promoted. UPSETs -> Cottbus to win. If Cottbus not able to win, F?rth with a win v Rostock, could jump as close, as possible to Cottbus! Oddsmakers think about F?rth and Dynamo Dresden v Ahlen as sure home wins, but do not forget that -> Dresden should win both the remaining games to survive.

Also preultimo round in Primera Division. Barcelona already won the title, but the second place is open yet. Ecobika thinks that Real Madrid is hungry enough to win -> against very disappointed Villarreal.. Very hard to say anything about the relegation, the candidates are too close to call. -> Maybe Alaves makes upset in Zaragoza. In theory big matchup Racing Santander v Osasuna, the home side is fighting against relegation, meanwhile Osasuna can end 3rd, or, without luck, on the 5th spot! I think that Santander needs the points.

European Basketball betting. My friends, ecobika has bad news: on Thursday Bamberg was able to loose by 11 points after led by 15 in halftime. This means that my favorite league, Basketball Bundesliga is also about big bettingmoney...Certainly, now the top favorites play at home and will -> not play upsets, of course...But ecobika do not waste money on German Bundesliga playoff anymore. But matches across Europe, check gamebookers' odds, you'll find the correct odds.

Tennis betting, and as generally, ecobika's advice: do -> bet on the favorites.

The all time goldmine betting source, the AFL Australian Football League season in the 6th round already. gamebookers offer very good odds on Carlton v Collingwood -> Collingwood to win. Start: 06.10 CET! Also seems banker in AFL: Kangaroos.

The MLB baseball season started a few weeks ago and most of the MLB moneylines are good bets, if you play simple the favorites with gamebookers' odds!

However, the ball is round, good luck with your soccer picks. Bet with confidence, bet with gamebookers ecobika do the same. sportbetting guru

2010 World cup soccer - A property marketing opportunity for South Africa

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

After the euphoria of winning the bid to host the 2010 Soccer World Cup, South Africans in all sectors must now work together to ensure that this opportunity is fully utilized for the long-term benefit of the entire country.

Hosting this major sporting event will be a massive boost to our economy and it is expected that almost R 30 billion will flow into South Africa, spurring economic growth to between 5 and 6 percent, while creating an estimated 150 000 jobs. The impact on the property market will be enormous.

South Africa is currently enjoying a strong position and consumer confidence is buoyant. International buyers, locals and expatriates are major buyers of South African properties.

The property market will do well to use the 2010 Soccer World Cup as a platform to aggressively market property in South Africa, which is still undervalued in global terms and offer exceptional value for money.

South African property is likely to receive a major boost from 2010 - if the World Cup is a success. Paris "France" property prices escalated by as much as 55% over a one year period before and after the 2002 Word Cup and property across the city made astronomical gains with the prices of apartments close to some of the stadiums rocketing by over 100% over the same period.

Some neglected neighborhoods in Paris were completely rejuvenated. The same will happen in South Africa, because although we have had a good run, in global terms our property is still undervalued and the macroeconomic outlook is very favorable.

Hosting an Olympic Games or World Cup encourages urban regeneration and is usually accompanied by an improvement in facilities, transport links and overall infrastructure. Yet, a closer look at the lessons of the Olympic Games hosted in Athens means a lot of work needs to be done - especially in marketing South Africa as a destination.

There is a lot to be learned from the Greek Olympic experience on how best to sell South Africa as a desirable country and etch ourselves into the minds of tourists and investors for a long time to come. Greece did not fully capitalize on the Olympics to promote itself and its property market to the extent that former Olympic host cities Barcelona and Sydney did - and lost out on some of the benefits of hosting a major international event.

Perhaps they were a bit complacent and thought just because they?d secure an event like the Olympics people would come running. The key learning is that Barcelona and Sydney went out of there way to make themselves outsider and investor friendly and strongly promote themselves through a fantastic marketing effort as a great place to buy a second home. And the Spanish in particular are probably the best in the world at selling their own property and the sensual and relaxed Spanish lifestyle. This has translated into massive job creation and social upliftment through increased tourism and a very favorable country perception. Around 60 000 UK citizens bought a home in Spain in 2003.

Just think if South Africa could increase its visitors by tens of millions a year to get close to the number of people who visit Span each year. We would have an incredible success story for job and wealth creation. When Sydney hosted the Olympic Games in 2000, they pushed not just Sydney as a city but the howl of Australia as a desirable place to tour, live and own property. There was a unified strategy between the government, the tourist board and the property industry.

In South Africa we can?t afford to just promote the cities that will host World Cup Soccer games. We also need to promote the true spirit of South Africa as a highly desirable investment friendly and stable country. Well planned government expenditure aimed at local regeneration will give impetus to host cities in creating a more suitable and attractive inner-city environment - that?s because public infrastructure that would otherwise have taken years to complete due to red tape will now be fast-tracked.

For example, the R 20-billion Gautrain high-speed service between Johannesburg and Pretoria will certainly be completed in time for the 2010 World Cup, creating a wealth corridor and increased property values across both cities.

Other projects that stand to benefit from the event include Coega?s giant "signature bridge", the Statue of freedom in Port Elizabeth and Durban?s new international airport at La Mercy, North of Durban. All of these will be fast-tracked into reality by 2010. In Cape Town , the N2 Gateway Project has been launched by the Housing Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu, in an attempt to replace the tin and cardboard shacks along the highway to improve the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of locals and remove an embarrassing eyesore before the influx of millions of tourists into the Mother City for the World Cup Soccer finals in 2010.

2010 is also having an effect on building costs. Many building contractors are holding out for money spinning 2010 World Cup contracts, creating a shortage of builders. Stadiums must be build, renovated and expanded in time for this major event. Many stadiums are also being build especially for the event like Nelspruit?s Mbombela stadium scheduled for completion in 2007, at a cost of R 350 million.

However, most of the benefits from hosting this event come in the form of multiplier effects of each rand spent on all goods and services in the economy leading up to, during and after the event. The increased health of the economy will have the biggest overall effect on property prices.
