Freestyle Soccer Tricks Astound and Amaze

The soccer ball is no longer just used for the sport of the same name. Now, thousands of people across the globe are currently showing off some incredibly skilled moves in a sport known as freestyle sport. While not a sport in the general sense (there are no teams and often no winner), freestyle soccer instead showcases complex and innovative tricks that are eye candy for anyone watching. Whether their bouncing a soccer ball off the back of their necks or jumping rope while sending a soccer ball flying into the air with only their head, practitioners of this growing sport trend are continuing to break new grounds and astound fans and spectators with some really amazing tricks.

There are many different types of freestylers who are perfecting soccer tricks year round. Most of these types tend to focus on one area of the body, or perhaps a certain shtick that makes a trick unique and memorable. For example, one freestyler may focus on soccer tricks that pertain to the lower body, while another may focus on upper body tricks. To get even more specific, there are those that make only practice and invent tricks that involve the head, or the foot, or even the neck. If the body part isn't enough for one person to focus on, they make try jumping rope while bouncing a ball or riding a bike, perhaps. Freestyle soccer tricks are really only bound by a person's imagination.

There are two main types of freestyle soccer tricks: the air tricks and the stall tricks. The basic principles are used in both, to make sure the ball doesn't hit the ground while at the same time keeping it moving continuously. It's a difficult task, but once achieved, it can be one of the coolest things to watch. The difference between these two types of tricks is in how these basic principles are achieved. In air tricks, the soccer ball is bounced off the body and oftentimes it gets some great air. The thing is, the ball is mostly in the air, which is not the case in stall tricks. Stall tricks involve keeping the soccer ball moving, but on the body rather than on the air. For example, one freestyler may hit the soccer ball in the air, catch it on the back of his neck, and move his neck in such a way where the soccer ball will sit there, rolling, and never falling to the ground until the trick is over.

As you can see, there is a lot of skill needed to perform freestyle soccer tricks. It takes a lot of practice and familiarity with the ball itself. One needs to feel comfortable with the soccer ball in order to get it to do what one wants. Without getting anymore Zen-like, I'll just mention that freestyle soccer tricks can be some of the most creative ways to use a sports ball, and one can only wonder how the sport will continue to grow and evolve in the future.

Soccer Uniform Buying Guide

There are many things to consider when buying those necessary soccer uniforms. The following is a breakdown of the factors to consider when purchasing them.

Show your true colors

Color is usually one of the major factors in determining ones choice in uniform. The reason for this is that color could most probably hinder or help you in your game plan or your cause.

Most of the more poplar colors include white/red, white/blue, white/black, white/navy. This is because these colors are a lot easier to find than black/orange or white/purple.

It would be best if you firstly decide the specific colors you would want to see yourself in before heading off to the shop and buying everything off.

Know that are available, or not

It is also highly advisable if you go on and check the availability of a few stocks before deciding on that items to purchase. Usually, the levels of inventory fluctuate during one whole year that checking-it-twice (as a Christmas song suggests) is a wise thing to do during the process of selection.

It would also be best if you provide you dealer with at least three possible options in order to maximize your chances of getting the uniform you most probably prefer.

If the price is right

Fortunately, there are sites that provide calculations on the price of your uniform via the assessment of a number of factors. One of the most important factors that help determine the total value in retail of any of your soccer uniform purchases is the number of your purchases and how much each item costs.

Usually, discounts are provided depending on the total value in retail of your purchase. A ten percent discount is provided when the purchase totals anywhere between $100 and $199. A fifteen percent discount is provided if the purchase amounts to anywhere between $200 and $499. A twenty percent discount is given if the purchase falls anywhere between $500 and $999. A twenty two percent discount then applies if the purchases accumulate to $1000 and $2499. A twenty five percent discount applies to purchases that occur between $2500 and $4999.

Also, do not forget that there are companies that are more than willing to offer an incentive special program to high schools, colleges and clubs. Sometimes, when the school is more prolific, the incentives given are a whole lot better. Or, the bigger a particular club, the more willing a vendor will get to offer a concession that will fit that specific club.

What is your style

Usually, most people are quick to criticize the style of a particular teams uniform. It is therefore very important to understand the particular needs of your club or team. What kind of style do you want to look for? Are you gearing towards a uniform that is more custom-made? Do you have a plan b just in case the uniform you are planning to have will be discontinued? Up to how many seasons do you plan to wear that uniform? Do you plan to buy back any of your old uniforms in case you drop or add a few players or so? Would boy and girl players be wearing the same kind of uniform?

As much as possible, never believe any of the dealers when they claim that a particular style will be around for all time. With todays ever competitive market, it is always safe to assume that nothing is definitely certain.

Soccer socks, socks for soccer

It is very important to be just as discerning if not discriminating when it comes to choosing socks for use in soccer. Firstly, socks provide a whole lot of support for a players ankle, protects the feet from getting blisters and holds in place shin guards.

It is highly advisable then that socks to be bought are sturdy ones. This is because children usually are great in wearing socks out as well as in outgrowing them. Socks that are of good quality usually last a lot longer and are great in adding support for the feet.

Also, try be keen in fibers. Socks that are in the lower-end kind are usually made out of 100% polyester, acrylic and cotton. Of course, socks that belong to a higher-end kind usually has microfibers that assist in keeping perspiration off from the skin.

These higher-end types of socks have yarns that are elasticized for additional support and durability. Some socks even have foot beds that are padded and with arch supports.

All in all, a good soccer uniform is one that best suits your particular needs, style and budget. It all depends on the choices you make, so make the best ones.

The Ultimate Soccer Experience For Greeks

During the 2004 summer, my home country, Greece had the privilege to be the protagonist in two extremely important and prestigious events in the nation's sports history; the EURO 2004 Soccer Championship and the 2004 Olympic Games. In the EURO 2004 Soccer Championship, the National Soccer Team of Greece gained the title as the new European Soccer Championship and by hosting successfully the 2004 Olympic Games, has proven to the world that it can surpass even the wildest expectations of its critics.

When Theodoros Zagorakis, the Greek national soccer team captain, lifted the Cup of the EURO 2004 Championship, every Greek, all over the world, felt proud to belong to this nation. It is difficult to describe the overwhelming feeling everyone felt that night when the Greek soccer team managed to defeat the national Portuguese soccer team in their homeland, at the national stadium in Lisbon, with a single goal. That hot summer evening, every Greek, man or woman, child or elder, was viewing the most anticipated game in the Greek sports history. The strong heartbeat everyone felt that night was one of the most important moments in every Greek's life.

Soccer is still the beloved sport of Greece and with this unexpected result soccer has managed to overcome social obstacles of age, politics and gender, shaping a new game identity. Nothing similar has ever happened to Greeks. Nothing as powerful, as that single scream of joy, has ever in the contemporary Greek sports history, united so dynamically this nation. For days after this accomplishment, Greeks were still unable to believe the outcome of their national soccer team's efforts and everyone felt the need to celebrate again and again their enormous success. For many critics, extremely important, if not more than the players' efforts, was the presence of Mr. Otto Rehhagel, the German coach of the Greek national soccer team, who managed to become the most familiar and friendly face in the Greek public surpassing the fame and status of all of his Greek soccer colleagues. His management style, his personality and his persistence, became a new national anthem for Greeks, who have made his profile the modern icon for an ancient Greek god.

In this particular meaningful sport event, every Greek felt like their support was projected in the field and their presence felt by the players, influencing every result in the series of the games played, reaching its peak during the final. From the known myths of sports, the 12th man was the classic illusion that promoted the spectators' wishing, screaming and cheering. The eleven contemporary heroes of the Greek national soccer team extended Greece's political culture to its undiscovered limits and cultivated the publics' belief in the 'hidden star-quality' that could illuminate once again everyone's life, as long as opportunity evolves and timing is right. These eleven stars, won a distinct place in the hearts of every Greek, transforming themselves to role models, resembling to the fame and prestige of ancient warriors. From the battlefields of this European Soccer Championship, this team's perseverance, effort and consistency, played the most crucial role in the turnout. Thus, the Greeks will value every minute of those athletes' accomplishment, in many years to come.

Soccer Kicks Back

Soccer has to be one of the original sports games every played by people. I can just imagine cave dwellers kicking around the old soccer ball. Or maybe it was a soccer rock? A soccer coconut perhaps? It's got to be one of the simplest form of sports play imaginable. I mean, really, I kick the ball this way and you try to kick the ball that way. Whether the ball (coconut?) goes more this way or more that way determines the winner. While it may be easy for me to imagine soccer being kicked around by a bunch of caveman sports enthusiasts, the earliest official record of soccer by played was in China about 3000 years ago. Wow, that's like 750 World Cups, if anyone was keeping track.

Ultimate Soccer Header

Soccer is also kind of bizarre, in that it's one of the few sports I can think of where you use your head for more than just strategizing. You actually can use your head to make contact with the ball. Imagine trying that in football (American) or hockey for that matter. Nothing link deflecting a slap shot with the forehead for a game winning goal. Stitches don't hurt that much. Those soccer guys are kinda funny that way. But the ultimate head shot in soccer was a little more bizarre. Gruesome actually. Apparently in more medieval times, the head of a defeated Dannish prince was used as the ball by early day soccer hooligans in the east of England. Yuck. Think I'd be shopping for some new soccer shoes after that match. It's a wonder soccer ever caught on with the Danes after a defeat like that one.

Soccer Wars

As with many games these days, soccer had it's origins on the battlefield. Rival towns would play soccer against each other, with little or no rules, and massive sized teams. Violent, bloody games, with hundreds of people kicking, punching, tripping in an attempt to win the soccer match. Sounds kind of like today, except today, that sounds like a more apt description of the fans instead of the players. You think it's tough being a soccer referee today, imagine a few hundred years ago. At least today, they keep the fans and referees separated. As time went on, and the local authorities realized that banning soccer wasn't going to work, more civilized soccer fans brought rules and order to the game of soccer. Not everyone agreed, and there were some splinter groups that went off and formed derivatives of the game. Rugby was one.

Soccer As Civilized Play

So today we have the modern game of soccer that we even allow our children to play. A far reach from the early beginnings of the sport. Perhaps an analogy can be drawn between soccer and many new forms of expression. In the beginning, things can be a bloody mess, but a few thousand years of civility and anything can be reduced to child's play.

Soccer Is About More Than Just Playing The Game: It's About Using The Right Equipment

Before a soccer player is even allowed to step out onto the soccer field, the referee does his standard check of each player to insure that he or she is wearing all of the necessary soccer gear. Shin Guards, socks, cleats, uniforms tucked in, no jewelry, and so forth. Along with the necessary gear among each of the players, the teams also need a soccer ball, a net, goalkeeper equipment, soccer bags, practice jerseys, flags, cones, etc.

One of the most important parts of purchasing any type of sporting gear is to make sure that the equipment fits the player correctly, in order for it to protect the way that it is intended. For example, soccer shin guards should cover the shins up to just below the knee, with the soccer socks covering the entire shin guard.

There are many different brands that carry soccer gear, so a little research and background knowledge of each company will aid in the selection of the best soccer gear for each individual player. Many of the most well known sporting and shoe companies make their own soccer gear. Nike?, Adidas?, Puma?, Umbro?, Lotto?, and Franklin? are just a few of the leading manufacturers in soccer gear. One of the first thoughts in many consumers' heads when it comes to buying anything is where they can get the best deal. That is okay, but it's important to remember that quality should outlast low cost, and quality made soccer gear will keep the players safe, and playing their best.

When searching for a deal on soccer gear, comparing products to one another will give the consumer a better idea of what it is that they are paying for. Looking at the materials used to make the equipment, how it fits, durability, if the gear will withstand washing, and whether or not the soccer player could actually play soccer with ease while using that particular gear, are all important factors to pay attention to.

Beginners, and those who are not as familiar with the game of soccer, may not realize that there really is much to the game than a ball and a net. Other forms of soccer gear such as shin guards, cleats, uniforms, practice equipment, and so forth are just as important to the game of soccer as simply having the required ten players on each team, a ball and a net.

Soccer cleats are athletic shoes that are specially designed for soccer players. Soccer shoes have large studs or cleats on the bottom that assist players in gripping the surface. These studs help players to be easily moved in the desired position.

Generally the cleats are made up of molded plastic because metal cleats are illegal as they cause danger to other players. Betting Highlights of the day, tricky bets of the day and the valuebets on Thursday, 12 of January. Soccer tips (football predictions): in France Ligue1, Toulouse v PSG and perhaps PSG is good enough to walk away with 3 points, if you want relatively low risk, play it with gamebookers' asian handicap 0:0, which means refund if draw. The UNDER 2,5 has the theoretical chance of 78% (!). In Spain Copa del Rey rematch, Real v Bilbao, ecobika suggestion: Real can not afford a boring game, after the first match won and qualification seems secured, so going OVER! In Italy, Coppa, Cittadella v Lazio (if you like thrillers...) and Inter v Parma. Inter seems secure after the 1-0 win at Parma, therefore an entertaining game is expected, if you like interesting and risky bet: Parma to keep cleen sheet @4.75. Euroleague Basketball continues! Hunting for bankers: Panathinaikos, Zalgiris (be careful, can afford to lose), and Maccabi - according to ecobika. Pau v ?lker perhaps the most difficult basketball forecast of the day.

The ball, however is always round, good luck with your picks.
